Our customer in the steel industry was looking for a production supervisor specializing in welding.
As the company is based in the outskirt of Montreal, the challenge was to present them with a candidate with this expertise, whose CV they hadn’t already received.
With the criteria in hand, we were able to target and approach potential candidates who not only qualified but had never applied for the company before. In addition to the level of difficulty, given the scarcity of manpower with this specialization, the candidate was not receptive to the initial approach. Since our priority is to focus on people’s interests, we were able to make it clear to him that his values were well aligned with those of our client. We also had in-depth discussions with the candidate to make him fully grasp the scope he would have within the organization.
Gilles finally agreed to join the team and thanked us for our insistence, as he’s happy in his new role. The company, which is a family-run small to medium-sized business, faces many challenges. Gilles is now able to deploy his extensive management experience and can now put forward his expertise in the steel industry.
