SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team (approximately 20 unionized employees) according to established quality standards, operating costs, occupational health and safety standards, and sanitation rules. You may also be called upon to work on various improvement and optimization projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate employees' workloads on a daily basis according to customer priorities in order picking/receiving.
- Respect deadlines according to transport schedules and Distributor-Franchisees.
- Plan and manage internal transport between factories and other distribution centers.
- Collaborate and communicate with the Quebec and Ontario transportation departments.
- Update SOPs and ASTs for Laval distribution center shipments.
- Analyze and update PC Data / Oracle system.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Minimum of a DES or equivalent degree in an appropriate discipline. (in particular industrial engineering and/or administration and/or management) (Note: candidates with equivalent training combined with relevant experience will be considered during the selection process)
- Experience of one (1) to two (2) years in a team management position (unionized environment an asset)
- Experience in the distribution - shipping sector
- Good knowledge of the Office suite (such as Word and Excel)
- Fluency in French (spoken and written), spoken English an asset
