SUMMARY :
Strategic player for optimal production management. Management of the maintenance team and supervision of subcontracted work. Submit projects to improve the working environment and production equipment, and adapt them to changes in the organization or technology. Maintain performance standards in health and safety, quality, financial performance, mechanical parts delivery times, and above all ensure a healthy environment conducive to employee development and motivation (SQCDM).
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensure rigorous monitoring and reporting of ongoing activities to the Plant Manager.
- Participate in various production meetings, KPI reviews and pre- and post-maintenance schedule review meetings.
- Able to effectively manage maintenance resources through the use of key performance indicators and benchmarking.
- Identify reliability issues and participate in the implementation of continuous improvement strategies.
- Ensure adherence to the maintenance budget by optimizing maintenance costs.
- Assist in the implementation of capital projects (capex).
- Identify & provide skill training required by each team member.
- Evaluate incoming work requests and, when justified, generate and prioritize a work order to cover the work.
- Ensure that all maintenance work is captured on work orders and entered into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS, Interal).
- Ensure that all scheduled work orders are completed within the allotted time.
- Review all completed work orders for accuracy and level of detail.
- Provide guidance to the Maintenance Supervisor in approving, prioritizing and estimating work, and technical assistance in developing maintenance schedules.
- Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities to optimize overall work efficiency.
- Assist in identifying root causes after equipment breakdowns and in developing new maintenance tasks to prevent recurrence in the future.
- Ensures compliance with SQF, HACCP and CFIA food safety requirements, and that requests for corrective action are handled in a timely and effective manner.
- Promotes accident prevention by training and correcting unsafe conditions and reducing accident risks.
- Aware of maintenance principles; six Sigma, RCM and autonomous.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or college diploma in mechanical engineering with relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial maintenance management, food industry (an asset).
- Experience in a unionized environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Innovative with superior logical analysis skills.
- Able to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, react well to change and get results.
- Able to manage multiple priorities, prioritize effectively and manage time well.
- Good computer skills (Office, Autocad).
- Knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS: Interal).
- Bilingual (an asset).
