SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the supervisor will have full responsibility for managing a production area within the plant, as well as the team within that area. In addition, the supervisor will be called upon to collaborate on various continuous improvement projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production supervision

  • Supervise and optimize all aspects of projects: resources, finance, schedules, quality, productivity, safety.
  • Manage work tools: use, control, calibration and purchasing.
  • Maintain key performance indicators in line with company standards standards.
  • Consistently enforce factory regulations.
  • Proactively escalate any barriers that may compromise ongoing projects via the processes in place.
  • Produce all reports required for proper project and plant administration.

Team Development

  • Promote a high-performance culture.
  • Maintain an up-to-date skills matrix for the business sector.
  • Establish a development plan for employees.
  • Manage employee performance.
  • Communicate regularly with the team and hold documented individual meetings with direct reports on a regular basis.
  • Effectively and proactively manage the entire employee life cycle (hiring and termination, payroll, vacation and absence).
  • Be a health and safety promoter: daily management, health and safety committee, monthly inspections.

Continuous Improvement

Work with support functions on various projects aimed at optimizing our manufacturing capacity.


QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Relevant experience in quality and performance management in an industrial assembly environment.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in team management in a unionized environment.
  • Recognized and consistent leadership.
  • Team builder with the ability to develop and maintain a high performance culture.
  • Excellent knowledge of occupational health and safety concepts.
  • Continuously seeks to learn more.
  • Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools.
  • Motivated to evolve in a constantly changing environment and demonstrate excellent change management skills.
  • Bilingual (intermediate level of French and knowledge of English for communication with our provincial and international teams.
